We’re proud to be associated with Andre Bezuidenhout in the 2018 Simola Hill Climb. His intention was to break his previous record set in 2017 with his 1989 Dallara F189 Formula 1 car. Knowing that Andre doesn’t do anything in half measures, we knew that we needed to get behind him this year. Andre achieved his goal with a 35.528 second over his previous record of 37.807 seconds!
The Timour Hall Classic Car and Bike Show is hosted annually by the International Police Association. The event has been running for 15 successful years. The Show was conceived in 1999 when the Western Cape Region of the Association was looking for a method of fundraising for their various charitable programs. What better way than to do it with classic cars? It’s usually the first event on our calendar every year.
We ended 2017 by joining Last Lion’s Cars and Coffee run. It’s always a good time meeting with like minded individuals and taking a drive around this beautiful city. The cars we took: Bentley Azure Mulliner, Aston Martin Rapide S and a Mclaren 650S Spider. It was not the biggest turn out due to many people being out of the country but nevertheless, there was amazing cars that joined. We’re looking forward to the runs to come in 2018.
The fourth annual Oily Rag Run took place on Sunday 22 October and was another great success. The Oily rag celebrates unrestored vehicles pre-1965. Eighteen cars, a motorcycle and a Vespa were flagged away from the start by FMM’s Wayne Harley to enjoy a 125-km route taking in Klapmuts and Windmeul before passing through the Perdeberg towards the West Coast then down towards Durbanville and Milnerton before joining Marine Drive into Cape Town and the finish at the C&W showroom. The Oily Rag is always a highlight of our calendar and this year didn’t disappoint.
We were pleasantly surprised when BMW lifestyle confirmed that they would be using our showroom for one of their latest campaigns. This heritage collection is right up our alley, mustaches and all! We love seeing the behind the scenes action and have been waiting a while to share some of it with you. Thanks to RockStarCars and everyone involved to make this happen.
