The Ferrari F430 is the Mid mounted V8 model produced by Ferrari between 2004 – 2009 and was the successor to the 360 Modena. Whilst maintaining the same basic aluminium chassis of the 360, the F430 received various physical updates to improve overall aerodynamic efficiency with the down force greatly improved. There were also many physical enhancements like the “Enzo” style tail lights, new bumpers and diffusers all round, larger air vents for cooling on front bumper and more.
The interior also received the same treatment with the likes of the new Manettino steering wheel mounted control system which allowed for different vehicle set ups.
The engine was upgraded to the 4.3L V8 which boasted figures of 483bhp at 8500rpm and 465 nm of torque at 5850rpm of which 80% was available at 3500rpm. This allowed the all new F430 to sprint to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 315km/h. The 0-100 km/h was in excess of half a second faster than the 360 Modena.
Whilst the F430 may not be a Formula 1 car, it does use many of the systems pioneered on the race winning race car, one of which being the new Electronically Controlled Differential or commonly known as the E- Diff.
All the above resulted in a very user-friendly Super Car with superb handling, agility, and performance.
There were in excess of 15000 F430’s produced with an estimate of only 10% being produced in the gated 6 speed manual gearbox, making it quite a rare car.
