The first series Alfa Romeo spiders were launched at the 36th Geneva Motor Show in 1966 and came with the round tail design and a 1576cc twin-cam engine producing 92bhp. The second generation was produced from 1970 to 1982 with the round tail redesigned by Pininfarina to the distinctive “Kamm” tail which improved luggage space.

Other styling changes include improved interior trim, revised grille, newer door handles and a windscreen with increased rake angle.

Details that make the Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce a great driver’s car:

• A raspy 1962cc 4-Cylinder Twin Cam engine producing 132 hp powering the rear wheels.
• 5-speed manual gearbox.
• Coil springs and telescoping shock absorbers used for suspension setup for optimal handling performance.

This example is well known to us as one of the best examples in South Africa. It is an ex-Johannesburg car which we first sold in 2014 and again in 2017 and has always been well maintained.

• New spark plugs fitted.

This Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce is a great example, ready to enjoy and well-priced for its condition. An inferior example cannot be purchased and brought up to this level at this asking price.
