The first series Alfa Romeo spiders were launched at the 36th Geneva Motor Show in 1966 and came with the round tail design and a 1576cc twin-cam engine producing 92bhp. The second generation was produced from 1970 to 1982 with the round tail redesigned by Pininfarina to the distinctive “Kamm” tail which improved luggage space. Other styling changes include improved interior trim, revised grille, newer door handles and a windscreen with increased rake angle.
Factors that make the Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce a great driver’s car:
This Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 Veloce was first registered in 1975 and reflects “Used” status on the registration paper. The Chassis and engine numbers are in the correct range for a 1975 example with the correct stampings on the engine confirming the correct drivetrain is in the correct chassis.
What sets this example apart from others we have come across is the excellent quality of the ride and handling and this is backed up by the extensive maintenance history with Alfa Romeo Specialists over the last 11 years.
