In production from 1958 to 1962, the Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring Spider was coach built by Carrozzeria Touring from where it takes its name. Based in Milan, Carrozzeria Touring is one of the world’s most respected coach builders. Since 1926 they have designed and sculpted some of the most rare and beautiful cars such as the Ferrari 166 Barchetta, the Aston Martin DB5, the Lamborghini 350 GT and Maserati 3500 GT.
The Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring Spider was powered by a 2.0l 4-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts, hemispherical combustion chambers, and a pair of side-draft Solex carburetors tuned to deliver 115 horsepower. This allowed the Touring-bodied roadster to easily exceed 100 mph and its fully synchronized 5-Speed transmission allowed relaxed high-speed touring,
