The Alfa Romeo series 4 spider, in production from 1990 to 1993, was the final version of the Alfa Romeo Spider, first launched in Duetto form in 1966. Changes for the Series 4 included:

• Revised bodywork: A smoother front and rear Pininfarina design with integrated bumpers with a more modern, stylish look.
• Updated interior: A redesigned dashboard, center console, and door panels provided a more contemporary feel.
• New wheels and tires: Larger, 15-inch alloy wheels with wider tires improved handling and grip.
• Improved convertible top: A revised convertible top mechanism made it easier to raise and lower the top.
• Engine and Performance - The Series 4 Spider was powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder 126 horsepower engine with Bosch Motronic fuel injection.

The Series 4 Spider was known for its nimble handling and responsive steering, making it a joy to drive on winding roads. The updated suspension and wider tires contributed to improved road holding and stability.

The Alfa Romeo Series 4 Spider marked the end of an era for the iconic Spider model and brought a number of updates that kept the car fresh and desirable. Today, the Series 4 Spider is considered a classic Alfa Romeo, and it is prized by enthusiasts for its timeless design, engaging driving experience, and open-top motoring thrills.

This example was first registered in 1991 and from the original service booklet we can see that it was delivered in in Switzerland near Geneva and maintained by Garage Du Palais the Alfa Romeo concessionaires. This example seems to have made it over to South Africa in the early 2000’s as the first recorded South African service is stamped in 2003.

This Alfa Romeo series 4 is in very good authentic condition as it still has its original seats, door cards and steering wheel which is consistent with the low mileage of 89500km. This is an opportunity to purchase a very good 90’s modern classic, the perfected version of the iconic Alfa Romeo Spider.
