The BMW X3 was introduced in 2003 as the company’s first compact luxury crossover in BMW’s X series. First shown at the Frankfurt Auto Show and based on the 3-series platform, the BMW X3 was considered the first mid-size, premium SUV on the market.
The third generation X3 was released in 2017, revealing further drivetrain and technological improvements such as LED exterior and interior lighting, optional gesture control and BMW’s iDrive 6.0 system which is shared with the G30 generation of the BMW 5-series.
Engine options include 2.0L and 3.0L turbocharged diesel and petrol engines as well as a plug-in hybrid model which has an electric motor with a range of up to 48 kilometers. These engine options coupled to the smooth 8-speed automatic transmission ensures a smooth and comfortable driving experience all-round. BMW also offers the option of the rear-wheel-drive sDrive or all-wheel-drive xDrive drivetrains in the X3.
