Maserati shifted strategy from sports cars to grand tourers with the introduction of the Maserati GranTurismo at the 2007 Geneva Motor show. The more powerful 4.7l 440 BHP Maserati GranTurismo S followed in 2008.
This beautiful GT designed by Pinninfarina is powered by an engine developed with Ferrari and built in the Ferrari plant. It has a deeper, smoother tone as it does not share the flat plain crankshaft design of the Ferrari V8’s and the result is one of the best sounding V8’s of the era.
The smooth ZF six speed automatic gearbox was introduced from 2009 and provides a level of refinement not experienced in a Maserati for some time. Common suppliers with Ferrari include the Poltrona Frau leather interior, the Brembo six piston calipers and the Magnetti Marelli electronics.
This is a well specced low mileage example in excellent condition.
Optional extras fitted to this car include:
- Comfort seat package
- heating
- memory
- lumbar support
- Burled walnut wood trim
- Front and rear parking sensors
- Aluminium racing pedals reminiscent of to those on Fangio’s 250F
Performance:
Acceleration: 0-100 km/h - 4.9 seconds
Top Speed: 295 km/h
This is a great opportunity to secure a beautiful Pinninfarina designed italian GT from a motoring heritage brand such as Maserati. At this price level there a few alternatives and the reliability record of the models from 2007 on wards is impressive.
This is not only a passion buy but also a logical choice that presents great value for money.
