Mini Moke Mk1

1965 - 1400cc - unique build - R 469 950

The Mini Moke was intended to be a compact military vehicle but excelled as a fun beach car. In production since 1964, Moke meaning Mule or Donkey was the cheapest four-wheeled car available with a style money couldn’t buy. The Moke really hit its stride as a practical, affordable and character-rich car that thrived in warmer climates

The Moke was one of the coolest cars of the 20th Century thanks to appearances in James bond movies, “You Only Live Twice”(1967), “Live And Let Die”(1973) and the British TV series “The Prisoner”. The Moke was also loved by celebrities such as Steve McQueen, Brigitte Bardot ……and her dogs

This Example:

This example is a one-of-a-kind Mini Moke that has had a ground up restoration and some clever modifications.

The base for this build is a 1965 MK 1 spec Morris Mini Moke. A full body restoration and respray was undertaken and a sturdy roll over bar with new canvas roof installed. A 1275 GTS engine with twin SU carbs was sourced and rebuilt and bored out to 1400cc. The front brakes were upgraded to discs with hydraulic calipers to ensure there is good stopping power to cope with the increase in performance. Front Bilstein shocks were fitted and 15-inch TSW centre lock rims with 195/45 ZR15 Goodyear tyres.

On the interior the floor and rear facing panels have been painted in a tasteful satin black and aluminium tread plates have been fitted. Four bucket seats with seat belts have been installed and finished with high quality tartan fabric inserts. A Momo racing steering wheel finishes off this performance themed Moke

This Mini Moke has seen minor use since restoration with approximately 1000 miles completed. This is an opportunity to secure a unique high quality Mini Moke that is perfect for the summer season.
