The fourth generation, 982 series Porsche Boxster, was released in 2016, Porsche added the numbers 718 to the name paying tribute to its flat four-cylinder type 718 racers from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
The Porsche Boxster 718 saw a move from naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engines to turbo charged 4 cylinders. The Porsche Boxster 718 saw a displacement drop to 2.0l but a performance increase from its flat four-cylinder engine with 300 BHP and a 0 to 100km/h time of 4.9s and a top speed of 275 kph
