Porsche launched the 997 version of the iconic 911 in 2004 which saw significant styling changes due to the unpopular headlight design of the preceding 996. The S derivative was released towards the end of 2004 and received the upgraded 3.8 liter flat six engine that produces 376 BHP, a 29 BHP increase from the base Carrera model. This is thanks not only to the displacement increase but the upgraded sports exhaust system too. The S model also includes the Porsche active suspension management system (PASM), 19-inch wheels and an upgraded braking system that is also used on the 911 Turbo. Factors that make the 997 one of the most desirable Porsche 911 models include:
This Porsche 911 (997 generation 1) was first delivered on the 12th March 2008 from Porsche Centre Cape Town and has only covered 47 999km since then. It has a full Porsche service history except for one service and is in excellent condition. Crossley & Webb sold this example in 2018 with 29 000km on the clock to the current owner and he has maintained it through Porsche Centre Cape Town with an annual service included in the asking price.
Optional extras ordered for this example include:
The sports exhaust system activated at the touch of a button together with the six-speed manual gearbox in an open top Porsche 911 are what makes this example special plus the desirable colour combination of Black with beige full leather interior is a bonus.
