In line with Porsche’s philosophy of gradual improvement over time, the Carrera was introduced in 1984 as the replacement for the successful SC series and featured the following improvements:

• Increase in power - 3.2l engine – 231 BHP – 80% new – use of Porsche 3.3l crankshaft for longer stroke
• Improved refinement and reliability via upgraded fuel and ignition to L Jetronic with Bosch Motronics 2 DME
• Improved fuel consumption – DME cut off on over run
• Better braking and heat dissipation with the fitment of larger disc brakes
• Improved oil cooling with the fitment of a new oil cooler

This high quality example was previously sold by us in 2015 and has been well maintained since. According to the original maintenance booklet, this Porsche 911 Carrera was first delivered on the 14th of April 1989 and has the desirable G50 gearbox available only from 1988.

Examples with the G50 gearbox are highly desirable as they have smoother gear shifts and improved performance
