In line with Porsche’s philosophy of gradual improvement over time, the 911 Carrera was introduced in 1984 as the replacement for the successful 911 SC series and featured the following improvements:

  • Increase in power - 3.2l engine – 231 BHP – 80% new – use of Porsche 3.3l crankshaft for longer stroke
  • Improved refinement and reliability via upgraded fuel and ignition to L Jetronic with Bosch Motronic 2 DME
  • Improved fuel consumption – DME cut off on over run
  • Better braking and heat dissipation with the fitment of larger disc brakes
  • Improved oil cooling with the fitment of a new oil cooler

According to the original service booklets this Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet was delivered on the 15th October 1986 to Peter Harrison by Orient Automobile and Trading company in Abu Dhabi. It was ordered in Guards red with red leather seats and desirable optional extras include the 16-inch Fuchs rims and the factory-fitted air conditioning system. A comprehensive maintenance history has been recorded with a recent service in February 2025
