The Aston Martin Rapide was first introduced in concept form at the North American International Auto Show in 2006 before being officially unveiled in production guise at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was designed by Aston Martin's CCO Marek Reichman, and was named after the Lagonda Rapide, a four door grand tourer made from 1961 to 1964. The Rapide was also Aston Martin's first performance saloon vehicle since the Lagonda.
The Rapide was built on Aston Martin's VH Platform and is loosely based on the DB9 model. The naturally aspirated 5.9 litre V12 engine produces 470 BHP to the rear wheels with the 6 speed ZF Touchtronic II automatic gearbox producing smooth and effortless gearchanges.
The Aston Martin Rapide was highly specced as standard. The features include bi-xenon headlamps, LED taillights, high quality leather and walnut wood trim, heating and cooling systems in the seats and a high quality Bang & Olufsen 16-speaker audio system.
This Aston Martin Rapide was ordered to the specification of its only owner and has a comprehensive service record with the Aston Martin agents with an annual service having just been completed.
The elegant Glacial Blue (Q special paint option) is complemented by the Cream truffle leather interior with an Alcantara headliner finished in Ivory all of which are in excellent condition. The 20 inch 20 spoke alloy rims are unmarked and the tyres are in good condition and younger than 5 years old
The overall quality of this example is evidence of this Aston Martin Rapide having only covered an average of 6000 well maintained kilometers per year with its only owner since new.
This represents an opportunity to secure an excellent example of the iconic 5.9l V12 powered Aston Martin Rapide.
