Highlights of this Mercedes Benz W111 220se Convertible
Designed as a replacement for the 2 door Ponton series, the W111 Convertible was first shown at the Frankfurt show in 1961 with a 2195cc M127 6-cylinder engine fitted which produced 118 BHP. Only 2729 examples of the 220se Convertible were produced and they are considered by enthusiasts to be the finest built and best performing luxury GT cars of the 1960’s. They are the last of the true hand-built Mercedes cars and are exceptional to drive.
According to the original sales invoice, this example was delivered new on the 13th of April 1965 (final production year) to Mr. CVP Airey by Denham Motor Sales Ltd in the UK. Optional extras specified are the automatic transmission and power steering.
