Since 1906 the name Rolls Royce has become synonymous with the finest luxury automobiles and high-quality engineering.

The Rolls Royce Silver Spirit, in production from 1980 to 1997, replaced the Silver Shadow and was powered by the naturally aspirated 6750cc V8 engine (198 BHP) with a smooth three speed automatic gearbox. The Rolls Royce Silver Spirit was known for its exceptional ride quality thanks to its hydropneumatic self levelling suspension system. The 1988 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, while part of the first generation, benefited from several years of refinements and improvements over its predecessors.

From chassis number 20001 onwards (mid 1987) advantages versus earlier examples include:

1. Fuel Injection: This was a significant upgrade. Earlier Silver Spirits used carburetors, which were less efficient and more prone to issues. Fuel injection brought improved fuel economy, smoother running, and better cold starts.
2. Bosch Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) significantly improved braking safety by preventing wheel lock-up during hard braking.
3. Restyled seats with increased lateral support and fully adjustable head restraints inside the passenger’s compartment. Plus, electrical operation of the seat squab.

This example was delivered on the 1st of October 1988 and is finished in Acrylic Larkspur Blue with Beige leather hide with Light Blue piping. It spent its early life in the UK and first came to South Africa in 1995. Since then was serviced by PL Motors with the last recorded service in the original service booklet in May 2021 at 35527 miles

This Rolls Royce Rolls Silver Spirit is one of the desirable fuel injected examples with ABS brakes and is in very good condition. A service is included in the asking price and this Rolls Royce is available for viewing at the Crossley & Webb showroom in Gardens Cape Town
